First Baby Shower

At 27 weeks I had my first baby shower! Mama and Pam threw me a family shower and we had over 30 people show up. It was beautiful! They went all out for us. They put so much effort into the shower and it was so thoughtful! We played the string game where everyone guesses how much string it will take to wrap around my belly. They had first second and third place. My cousin Lenora won! Her string was exactly what my belly is. My Aunt Joanne and Darlene came in second and third. We laughed and opened presents and everyone said awe at every gift! After gifts my mom went around the room and asked everyone what they thought the baby’s weight would be. Everyone guessed 6 to 8 pounds until we got to my grandma. She said 10 pounds! Lord I hope not!!!

Maternity Shoot!

At 26 weeks we had our maternity photos taken. I suggest that everyone take them at this point. You feel like having your picture done, your face isn’t swollen too badly, and you have enough of a belly to make it worth the time! A lot of really cute ones were taken, but this one is my favorite! Our Aria Rose is truly a gift from God!

Aching Hip

As I approach my third trimester I am starting to be uncomfortable. I am starting to have trouble sleeping, getting in and out of bed, and the tub! I know that I don’t have a big tummy yet, but I still find it hard to stand up. I guess because I can’t use my abdominal muscles like I used too. The one thing that is getting old quick is my hip pain. It started about 2 weeks ago and has not gone away. My right hip joint hurts whenever I use it. Walking and turning over has become painful. I asked Dr. Bartley if it is anything to worry about and she said that it is just my muscles stretching. I have been trying to walk at least 30 minutes a day hoping that that will make the muscles stronger. As of today there is no change. Another uncomfortable feeling I have been having is feeling full. Even if I have a small meal I feel like I have eaten a huge plate full. My belly feels like it is going to explode! I have noticed that I have to make myself stop eating at a certain point too otherwise I feel nauseous after I eat.
