Braxton Hicks

I don’t know what to expect when it comes to these Braxton hicks contractions. In class she said that your stomach will get really hard and tight. She said if you have more than 5 of these contractions within an hour you need to come in. Well that doesn’t give me too much detail as to what to expect. I have asked other mothers what they experienced and they said it feels like an upset stomach ach. Well I have noticed more of a menstrual cramp feeling. I keep running to the bathroom to make sure I am not bleeding because it feels like I just started my period. Once I stop what I am doing and rest that feeling stops. So I guess I am having contractions? I go to the doctor in two days so I think I am going to just see what she says before I call.

Pulsing…down there

During the whole pregnancy she has be low. I haven’t had any trouble with her in my ribs or heartburn and I am so thankful! Well now that I know she is just going to stay low I am really starting to notice a lot of pressure in my groin and vag area. I know it sounds nasty, but I told Andrew that I feel like her hand is out and she is waving. It is like a light pulsing feeling and I have also noticed some swelling…eww!

She looks like both of us!

At 31 weeks we went back to try again at the 3D-4D sonogram and this time she cooperated!!! I decided to drink a sweet tea before I went in to make sure she was awake and boy was she. I felt bad, because I have done so good about not having caffeine throughout my whole pregnancy, but I wanted to make sure we got a good picture of her and I kept telling myself that some woman drink and eat anything and everything and have perfectly healthy babies. We went back and as soon as the tech started we were able to see her cover her little face. Probably 90% of the sonogram she spent with her hands on her face. we were able to get some clear shots and towards the end she uncovered her face and we got a straight on shot! She has my nose and Andrew’s lips for sure! We can’t wait to meet her in person.

Dizzy Spells

At the beginning of my pregnancy I noticed that I would get really dizzy on the weekends. I would be perfectly fine during the week, but on Saturday and Sunday I would feel like I would be about to faint! I finally realized that it was my blood sugar. I was getting up around 11:00 and would eat a bowl of cereal first thing, not smart! Once I realized what was causing it I stopped. Well now I am at the beginning of my 30 week mark and the dizzy spells are starting up again not matter what I do. Like clockwork no matter what I eat, every morning I get dizzy and have to drink a lot of water and just sit still. I feel really flushed and warm all over. I have never fainted before, but I am sure this is what you feel like before you hit the floor.

3-D/4-D Sonogram

We heard that the popular thing to do was to get a 3D/4D sonogram at 28 weeks. This would be a clear picture of the baby so we could see what she looks like! I called a new place in Evans and they said that it would be $175 to come in. I decided I will go ahead and call my doctor’s office to see if they do it and how much it would be. Surprisingly they said it is $150! So we scheduled our appointment for my 29th week. We went in so excited to see our baby girl. While in the waiting room I was reading the authorization sheet and it said that if they are unable to get a clear view of the baby you would have to come back and it would be an additional charge. I was so worried that we wouldn’t be able to see her and wasted our money! We would not be coming back to experience the same thing! Well, wouldn’t you know it, our little booger was turned in the wrong direction! She had her backed turned to my stomach and she would not flip over! The tech tried everything to get her to move and she wasn’t having it. She was snug as a bug! We were still able to see her as a normal sonogram view and we could tell that she has grown bigger and loves to move her little hands around! I was about to get upset and the tech said, “When they are turned like this there is nothing we can do to get them to move” I was like oh great! Here we go with the sales pitch. Well she surprised us and said “yall come back next week and we will try again. There won’t be another charge. We will get a picture of this little girl!” I was so relieved! So we have another appointment and we pray that she will work with us on this one!

Birthing Classes

We signed up for our birthing classes for November. I didn’t want to go in too early or wait to late, but I really wasn’t sure what time to start. I felt better once I got to the classes and the other two couples were due around the same time we were. It was a four week long class, but our instructor asked if everyone was ok to make it 3 weeks. We were all for it! We started off by learning about the pregnancy gustation periods, then moved on to what us moms would experience, then labor and delivery, and finally newborn tips! I had been feeling calm about labor and delivery up to this point. Once we started talking about it I started to get nervous. I try not to think about it, because I don’t want to freak out. I keep telling myself that if my granny could deliver two children at home with no meds I can deliver one at a hospital with all the good drugs. We also went to a breast feeding class and I am sure glad I did! The instructor gave us lots of tips and showed the best way to feed your baby and how to get them on a schedule! I pray that Aria will be a good breast feeder. I really want her to have the healthiest start possible. I know that some woman have trouble with the baby latching on and producing milk. I just hope it all works out for us!
